# 🏥 ACUHIT Hackathon — "Geleceğin Sağlık Teknolojileri"
### Acıbadem Üniversitesi | 7–9 Mart 2026
---
## 📌 Introduction
**ACUHIT Hackathon** is a 48-hour innovation competition organized by students of Acıbadem University, supported by **Acıbadem Life** and **Acıbadem Sağlık Grubu**.
The event is themed **"Geleceğin Sağlık Teknolojileri" (Future Health Technologies)** and takes place at the **Kerem Aydınlar Campus**, running from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon — **7–9 March 2026**.
The hackathon is structured in **two phases**:
- **Phase 1 – Data Analysis & Model Development:** Teams work on a dataset provided via Kaggle, develop models, and submit a 10-minute YouTube video summarizing their approach. 16 finalist teams are selected based on these submissions.
- **Phase 2 – Campus Marathon (48 hours):** Finalist teams arrive on campus and develop complete, deployable solutions to the problems they identified during Phase 1.
Winners are honored under the **"Kerem Aydınlar Sağlıkta Teknoloji ve İnovasyon Ödülleri"** — awards established in memory of Kerem Aydınlar, symbolizing the Aydınlar family's unwavering belief in the potential of young talent.

|---|---|
| **Machine Learning** | Python, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch |
| **NLP / Text Processing** | spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers, NLTK |
| **Data Analysis** | Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn |
| **Collaboration** | GitHub, Google Colab, Notion |
| **Presentation** | YouTube (Phase 1 video submission), live demo (Phase 2) |
| **Communication** | Slack / Discord (event channels), Zoom/Meet for mentoring |
The core technical challenge revolves around:
- **NLP** — extracting structured clinical features from unstructured doctor notes, nurse observations, and discharge summaries
- **Dynamic Health Scoring** — building mathematically sound, clinically validated "next-generation health parameters"
- **Predictive Modeling** — forecasting patient prognosis, length of stay (LoS), and clinical resource needs using AI
APIs and additional technical resources will be provided jointly by the **Scientific Content Unit** and the **Technology Infrastructure Unit** prior to the event.

## 💡 Inspiration
One of the biggest bottlenecks in today's healthcare systems is the inability to analyze heterogeneous patient data — lab results, vital signs, free-text clinical notes — from a unified perspective. Existing scoring systems are typically static and limited in scope.
ACUHIT Hackathon was born from the question:
> *"What if we could digitally represent the full health trajectory of a human being — and predict where it's heading?"*
Participants are not just asked to write code. They are challenged to **bridge medical literature and mathematics**, and to become pioneers in **digitally representing human health**.
The event is inspired by the vision of **Acıbadem University** as a leader in healthcare innovation, and the legacy of **Kerem Aydınlar** — whose name lives on through this campus and these awards, representing hope, youth, and the future of medicine.
We believe that the best solutions to healthcare's hardest problems come from **multidisciplinary teams** — where a physician thinks alongside an engineer, and a designer works beside a data scientist.
